Get on stage with the superb scripts and cutting-edge characters of ACT’s 2024/25 seasonPOTUS, Mrs. Loman is Leaving, Golden, and The Enemy of the People. Hone your acting skills with challenging material – or try your hand at direction, design, or dramaturgy. Discover a rich diversity of contemporary characters, settings, and styles – and be the first to act in these plays at ACT before they go into professional production! 

The week culminates in a performance in ACT’s Bullitt Cabaret for family and friends.

Ages 14-30
August 16-18, 10am-5pm

ACT’s Stage Management (SM) Camp is a 3-day intensive designed to support your theatre production journey.
 
Develop, practice, and get insider tips on all the responsibilities of the Stage Manager, like:
– Communicating with directors, designers, and actors
– Practicing nuts and bolts of the job, like taping out rooms, room set up and flow, writing reports, etc
– Getting the most out of production meetings
– Making paperwork work for you
– Running a positive and smooth tech
– Learning theatre technology  
– Relationship and responsibility management
– Calling complicated cues
– Creating an inclusive and trust-based room 
 
Hear from diverse seasoned stage management and design professionals about their real-life experiences, and discuss how all of this translates to the real-world context of your own producing environment.
 
Open to all experience levels (actors and designers who want a richer perspective on theatre-making are also encouraged to join us)!

Join us for a series of workshops and social gatherings as we begin to develop the script for our New Works Northwest commission. Create characters, world-build, spin out plots, discuss themes as you work closely with an award-winning professional playwright and director. This new play will have a public staged reading as part of ACT’s annual New Works Northwest Festival November 3, and go on to ACT’s first fully produced YCC summer production in July 2025. Get in on the ground floor!
