A Public Health Update from ACT

To our valued subscribers, ticket holders, and our community at large:

We understand you are eager to know when our ACT Mainstage season will premiere.

Patrons will be able to exchange tickets for upcoming shows and we hope that a summer re-launch will be possible. ACT’s Mainstage Season runs on a spring to fall calendar. Most local companies are ending their seasons now and have chosen to cancel their final productions in order to focus on a fall return. ACT’s 2020 season is just beginning.

This means that due to the ongoing government mandates surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, some of our spring and summer productions were cancelled. The good news is that we are weighing how we can rearrange our calendar in order to re-schedule and produce shows like Sweat that were already in rehearsal when we were forced to shut down. Local experts have suggested that the mandate will continue, which means a July opening would be our next option.

What will be on our stage this year?

• Sweat, the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play, will likely be moved into another slot, possibly this summer.

• The Effect has been postponed to an undetermined date.

• Choir Boy has been cancelled. The Denver Center Theatre Company was forced to shut down rehearsals due to the pandemic and had not yet built sets so this co-production will not continue.

We will do our best to preserve our original fall programming schedule which features the World Premiere of The Laugh Track and the highly-acclaimed Witch. Both are comedies and we will be ready for some laughs! And, of course, A Christmas Carol is due to be back at holiday time.

Your Tickets

Again, we appreciate your patience as ACT confirms programming for our 2020 Mainstage season.

You can click here to explore some of the ticketing options available. We hope you will consider donating the value of your ticket(s) back to ACT. Choosing to donate your ticket value will help to sustain our theatre through this difficult time.

We have reduced our regular Ticket Office business hours and temporarily closed our building to the public due to the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order from Governor Inslee. Our Ticket Office will be available by phone and email Tuesday-Friday from 12pm–4pm. We will reply to email inquiries to service@acttheatre.org at the earliest opportunity during our regular business hours. If the issue is urgent, please call us at 206.292.7676.

As soon as we are released from the closure mandate and can ramp up business once again, you will be the first to know. We look forward to raising our curtain in celebration with you.
