Privacy Policy

Please read the following privacy policy to understand how your personal information will be used and treated when you make a transaction at ACT Contemporary Theatre. Please note that this policy might change from time to time, and we will notify you if any changes are made to this policy. 

By using this site or by making a donation or purchase by mail, in person, or over the phone, you signify your agreement to ACT’s Privacy Policy. 

ACT will take all appropriate steps to keep your personal information confidential. Personal information is defined as your name, street address, e-mail address, billing information, credit card number, expiration date, and any other personally identifying information you may provide. Those steps include limiting access to client information databases and communicating this policy statement to all of ACT’s employees. We may communicate with our donors and customers via e-mail or other online delivery devices if the donor or customer agrees to receive those communications. Individuals who believe they are receiving our communications in error or no longer want to receive them should contact communications@acttheatre.org, and we will promptly remove those names from our mailing lists. 

A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a Web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. If you have set your browser to reject cookies, you can still use the Web site, but you may need to re-enter information that we would normally obtain from the cookie. You can also set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies. If you do, you will receive a warning message each time the Web site attempts to place a cookie on your hard drive. 

ACT may use your financial information, including your billing information and credit card number, to bill you for your transaction initiated through the website, by mail, in person, or over the phone. By making a transaction at ACT, you consent to our providing your financial information to our service providers and to such third parties as we determine are necessary to process your transactions, as well as to your credit card issuer for its purposes. Third parties receiving your financial information may include credit card companies and banking institutions used to process the transaction. By submitting your financial information, you are deemed to have authorized such third parties to use such financial information in accordance with our contractual arrangements with them, and in accordance with their own privacy policies, over which we have no control. 

ACT currently uses the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol to safeguard your information, including your credit card number, during online transactions. You can tell you are using the Secure Socket Layer encryption when a gold or blue padlock appears in the corner of your browser. In the unlikely event that we ever do suspect an individual’s credit card number has been intercepted, we will immediately notify the individual.
