Christine Marie Brownis thrilled to be an ACT Core Company member. Previous ACT credits include The Pitmen Painters, Mr. Burns, A Christmas Carol (2016), Beatrice & Benedict (Seattle Opera), The Wolves and Osl,. Nationally, Christine has been seen on and off Broadway, at the Guthrie, Old Globe, South Coast Rep and Shakespeare & Company, among many others. Seattle audiences would know her work from shows at Seattle Rep, Seattle Shakespeare, Village Theatre, Book-It Rep, Taproot, Theatre22, Thalia’s Umbrella and 14/48 Projects. Favorite roles include Mona in Oslo, Hermione/Autolycus in The Winter’s Tale and The Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods. In Seattle, she taught at SU, SPU, the Seattle World School and was a member of the faculty at Freehold Theatre Lab for 7 years. In addition, she is now a full time Theatre Arts Instructor at Interlochen Arts Academy in Northern Michigan, where she recently directed The Children’s Hour and Anon(ymous) and appeared last summer as Janine in the ISF production of The Niceties by Eleanor Burgess. She holds an M.F.A. from the Old Globe Theatre and is a member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA.
