Alaji Marie (Second God/Wife/Husband/Yang Sun/Mr. Shu Fu) was born and raised in Detroit & brings Yemeni/Ethiopian/Polish roots with her. She is devoted to making art that creates space for representational growth, stories that activate memories in her audience, and challenging the emotional capacity of humans. Alaji’s work currently consists of acting, teaching, and artistic curation: You can catch her storytelling on stages across Seattle Puget sound, pouring original poetry out to the community, teaching hiphop to seniors, on a T-mobile commercial or directing a film with her ArtsCorps youth students. She’s been blessed to work with companies such as Artswest, Annex, Forward Flux, SilverKite Community Arts, Seattle Children’s Theatre & Theatre Schmeater to name a few.
