Youth and Adult Programs

ACT’s Youth and Adult programs offer a professional theatre environment while centering individual voice in order to energize and actualize our full creative selves through theatre.

Open House and Introduction to the Young Core Company
Theatre, Pizza, and Connection!

ACT has five performance spaces, plus tons of theatrical nooks and crannies. Get a deep, inside look at ACT’s 100-year old historic landmark building, plus connect with other teens over food and conversation!

Artistic Associate, Education Shana Bestock will answer questions (and ask you some!) about the vision for the Young Core Company, plus we’ll be joined by an ACT Core Company special guest artist.

ACT On Stage
Selected bursts of audacious contemporary theatre from ACT seasons past and future

Join us for a fearless look at visceral, contemporary plays. Hone your acting skills while working on scenes direct from ACT’s mainstage shortlists. This workshop culminates with a public performance at ACT. All experience levels welcome. Be the first to put these scripts on our stage!

Script examples:

  • A biting, badass feminist take on Dracula by Kate Hamill
  • The timeless passion of Cyrano through a new adaptation filled with spoken word, contemporary poetry, and raw physicality
  • The brutality and humanity of adolescent soccer players in Sarah DeLappe’s hit play The Wolves
  • The absurdity of existence in modern classics Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead by Tom Stoppard and Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett
